MICHAEL MORIN
BUILDER . ARTIST

I build things.
Rooms. Structures. Images
Most of my work begins with something I can see before I know how to explain it
_______________
I am interested in what remains.
What is built. What is broken. what is buried beneath what comes afterward.
THE BEAUTY IN ENTROPY
I approach painting as an excavation of the human condition. A way of giving physical form to experiences that language can only approximate. There are certain things within us that resist explanation. love, grief, fear, longing, loss, trauma, memory. Words can describe their circumstances, but they rarely communicate their true magnitude. They tell us what happened. They cannot always tell us what it felt like to exist inside it.
